From 2000 to 2014, this occupation has grown by 4,870 jobs however, there has been a decrease in employment by 15.8% over the past five years. Currently, there are 9 Anesthesiologists per 100,000 Canadians, 2300 being male and 1000 being female all of which as of 2016.

 

Some future employment trends are a higher demand for Anesthesiologist who are good with older people due to the baby boom. Employment for Anesthesiologist will also grow a whopping 18%. Finally, Anesthesiologist will have a lower salary due to government cuts and insurance payments to hospitals.
