There are many skills required to not only become a successful Anesthesiologist but a caring one. These include:

• active listening - making sure you know and understand your patient.

• monitoring - making sure your patient is safe by watching over them.

• patience - different patients have different understanding abilities and problems.

• critical thinking - since an Anesthesiologist administers anesthesia to different people, the amount varies where factors including age, height, and weight are all considered. In critical situations, the Anesthesiologist must think fast to make the best or safest decision for the patient.
